A grant of probate provides the executor the authority to handle the assets of the estate. An executor is a legal term that refers to the person named by the maker of a Will, or nominated by the testator, that is responsible for carrying out the directions o the Will. Typically, the executor is the team that is responsible for offering the Will for probate.
